Are reeds or willow better for basketry? I'm confused.

It depends on the texture and effect that you are trying to achieve, nessie. Also whether your finished piece is going to be decorative or practical in its finished incarnation

Hi Guys, great to meet you.

Nessie: I find Willow easier to use but this maybe because I only have limited movement in the first and second fingers of my left hand.

BB: thanks for the offer - where are you from?

I find grass makes a very nice basket. I grow my own and would be happy to provide advice on how you could do the same.

David - did you have some sort of weaving accident?

Mr W - I have lots of grass. I've never thought of using it for basketry. Hmm, thanks for the tip.
