Willow is exceptionally flexible, especially when the sap is present in the stem

Now that highlights another potential problem. What if the sap stays in the stem too long will the stem explode potentially hitting a passing person or cat in the face? I

Update on neighbours pesky cat... Water bottles no good at all as it's rainy or overcast more often than not on this miserable isle, so had a new idea which seems to work. What you need is a big ugly potato onto which you carve George Bush's face. Then impale the potato on a sharp stick and place in flower bed. Works a treat!!

You'd have to be pretty artistic to make a potato look like George Bush, wouldn't......
What am I saying?

It was surprisingly easy... at first it had a bit of a warthog look about it, reminded me of Lemmy from Motorhead, but a few skillful slices later (eyes closer together, warts off) and I'd nailed the 'confused, dumb piglet' look pretty well if I can say so myself.
Gotta go and trim my butterfly bush to make room for my new pineshaving covered hanging basket. It's a beauty!! See ya all later!!

Hello William, some willow is harder than others. I prefer it quite stiff.
