Changing your website colours

Ready to get started?

Hi, in this video, I'm just going to show you how to change the colours on your website.

I'm using the Minimal theme here. When you're logged in, you'll see the Admin toolbar at the top. Go to the dashboard like this, and go down to theme accent colours.

You can see the main accent colour here is this like an orange colour. Let's change that to say this blue colour, for example. And just see the Hex code here? We might need that, so just copy that, and then Save Changes.

Then if we go back to visit the website, we can see that some of these colours have changed to blue, but not all of them. For example, we've got this colour here that will surround that image and here and this block colour here.

We need to change those colours. What you do is you click Edit with the front-end page builder, which is an admin toolbar at the top, and scroll down to this image here.

It's click Edit and change this layer's background color. Remember, we copied and pasted. We copied that Hex colour for the blue earlier, so I was going to paste that in there.

Save that. That'll change to blue. Same with this. Save that. And then this column here, float your cursor over this column and click the Edit column. The background, change the background color to blue.

This button here, the text is orange still, so I'll click the button. Change the button text colour to that blue colour. There you go. Then save that.

A couple of other things are the links are orange when you float over them. To change that, go to the dashboard, go to the theme, header navigation. I'm going to go and scroll down to the header font hover and paste in the blue there and save that.

Now that's blue. This widget here, is the chat widget, you can change that by going to the dashboard, going to the chat widget, edit, style, and then change these colours here again. And then click OK, and then Save that. Is it the site? That's OK. The icon's at the bottom here. And when you float over them and also the links at the bottom here, they still are orange, so we need to change that to blue. We go to the dashboard again. We go to theme, footer. We can change the footer copyright icon hover to blue.

Save that. Now, they're blue. The footer links are blue. There you go. The image here, you can't change the colours on the image because it's an image, but you could upload your own image if you want to get support on...

If you like this image and you want support on getting that image colour changed, then get in touch and we can change that. But if you wanted to just change that image for something else, go to Edit with front-end page builder. Cycle. And click Edit image, remove that image, click Add image, and you can upload an image from your computer if you have one, or choose an image from the Media Library, or using instant images, you could choose an image.

We could do a search for an image. There's about a million images on here. Just choose an image that you like and then click Load More if you don't like any of these.

That's quite a nice image there. Just click that. It will then download that image into the Media Library and add it here and then just click, Set Image. Then click Save Image or save changes, and there's that image there.

Then click update. There you go. You could change this image down here as well if you wanted to. But that's how you can change the colours on your website.
