How To Find The Best Keywords
Ready to get started?
Hi, guys. I did a video previously, and you can look at the help videos on recsites.co.uk/help.
But it was about optimizing your web pages for particular keywords that someone might type into Google to find your product or service, so super important to do that.
For example, on this web page, what you would do is you'd go to Edit page, and it opens up the back end of the website. It just takes a second to load up, My internet is rubbish today. Just close that.
You go to the SEO box here and you go into SEO analysis. You might type in here, for example, let's say you did finance recruitment. Then this little box, this little thing spins around here and it's doing the analysis of the page and it says we've got nine recommendations and it says the SEO title is too short and you haven't added images and so on.
The SEO analysis is done based on this keyword here. It's the keyword that you... And this is for the homepage. The home page would be the most important page on any website. This is the main keyword that you want to focus on.
In this case, it's finance recruitment. Then you would go through these things to try and improve your score by adding the keyword finance recruitment into the various areas where it says there. For example, in this meta title here in the meta description, and maybe add it into the keyword into the copy on the page as well. I've got a video about that.
But this video, what I'm going to talk about is how do you know what is the best keyword to use? Should it be finance recruitment or should it be finance jobs or should it be jobs in finance or should it be something else?
How do you know what that is? What's going to get you the most amount of traffic and relevant traffic? It's hard to know. Even if you think you know, how do you know for sure? You might be wrong. You might be focused on the wrong keyword. Maybe you're missing out on huge amounts of potential traffic that will get you more client inquiries and more candidate registrations.
It's super important to know what is the best keyword or keywords to optimize your website for. And of course, you can optimize different pages of your website for different keywords that are all related to your product or service.
What you would do, go to Google and type in Google Keyword Planner like that. And then it takes you here, ads. Google. Com. Part of the Keyword Planner tool is part of the Google Ads thing, but you don't need to pay for Google Ads, but you can use the Google Keyword Planner and it says here, Choose the right keywords without research tool. You click that and it takes you to this page and then you click go to Keyword Planner.
Now, of course, you need to have a Google AdWords account first. It's free to set up a Google AdWords account. Just google Google AdWords or something and set up an account. Or just when you go to Keyword Planner, it'll ask you to sign in or create an account or click Sign In. Either way, go to the Google Keyword Planner. When you're on a Google Keyword Planner, it will look like this.
For example, it will say there's two options: discover new keywords or get search volume and forecasts. If, for example, if you discover new keywords, what you might do is type in here finance recruitment and then click get results. It gives you other stretches out of it.
It'll give you other keywords that you might want to do. I'll put in finance recruitment and the average, you see this column here, average monthly searches. It's on google.co.uk in the United Kingdom here is 720. But actually get slightly more searches on finance recruitment agencies. You can see the searches here. I would say accountancy agencies is not too bad. I would say probably... Finance recruitment is pretty good. I'd say probably finance recruitment agencies might be better.
Accounting recruitment agencies is pretty good. I would say the keywords that you really probably would want to focus on would be finance recruitment, finance recruitment agencies, accounting recruitment agencies. In this example, there would be three good keywords, maybe accountancy recruitment as well.
Maybe you'd want to get a spreadsheet or something, you could just put in keywords, finance recruitment, finance recruitment agencies, accounting recruitment agencies, banking recruitment agencies, and accountancy recruitment, and maybe, I've gone down this list, maybe accountancy agency, maybe. Anyway, so that's that. That is what I would do.
Then you could broaden your search by clicking these fields up here like a finance staffing firm, and then clicking get results, and this will give you more results, and you can put in finance jobs up here.
It's another keyword you put in there, gives you more results. What we're trying to do... See, look, it says here, that finance jobs give you 5,400. That's really super cool.
Keyword then, finance jobs looks like a good one. Financial Analyst, pretty good. Financial controller. Financial Analyst jobs, jobs in finance is pretty good. Finance jobs near me is pretty good. Investment banking jobs, pretty good.
What does this tell you? Well, this tells me that what a lot of people are typing into Google is actually the job role itself. They're looking for a finance job, not just jobs or recruitment agency. They're looking for finance jobs or they're looking for a financial analyst job. That is a good keyword or financial controller. They're looking for specific jobs. Based on this, maybe it would be good to optimize your website if you are recruiting in the finance sector for the keyword finance jobs and maybe create some pages relating to financial analyst roles and financial controller roles and financial analyst jobs.
Jobs in finance would be a good keyword, finance jobs, namely. You just create these pages and that would be typical or optimized pages that you currently have for those keywords.
For example, if we're going to use the keyword finance jobs and go back to editing this page, we want to use the keyword finance jobs and then run that analysis, just running that analysis and it's given us 10 recommendations. Then we would go through these recommendations.
I have another video, but one of the recommendations would be, SEO title is too short. Seo title is this bit here. You put in finance jobs, and then maybe you'd put in one of the other keyword ideas as well. So it's finance jobs is pretty good, isn't it? And then maybe finance recruitment, let's say, jobs in finance looks like a good one. Let's put in jobs in finance. Jobs in jobs in finance.
And also, obviously, I'm not able to capitalise all of these main things as well when you're doing the SEO title. And then it's up to you. Because this looks like such a good keyword, Financial Analyst, I'd probably put that in. I've maybe Financial Analyst. Because I'm rubbish at spelling, make sure you spell it correctly. Then maybe the name of your agency, whatever that is. Make sure this is all in the green here.
We've got 62 characters out of 65, so make sure you don't go under 50 and make sure you don't go over 65. And then in this meta description here, which is this bit here, which is underneath the link here in Google, you need to put in a meta description. This is describing what this page is about. Obviously, you talk about you as an agency and what you do.
Then make sure you put these keywords in here as well. You might say, We're a leading agency that recruit financial analysts and we recruit the We have the best paying jobs in finance, we have financial controller jobs, this thing, putting these keywords in there. If you're looking for a finance job or jobs in finance, then please, we're the best agency, whatever. You're putting in these keywords into the meta description as well. Then these keywords as well, they would go into these words here.
This section here, which is on the front end of the website, you'd make sure that you add maybe the keywords into this H1 tag here and some keywords into this text here, add the keywords into this H2 tag, and add the keywords into this paragraph text, and so on and so forth by going through the page, adding in the keywords because what you want to do is to make sure that you've got the correct keyword density, so the right amount of keywords in the page compared to as a percentage of the volume of words in that page.
That's called keyword density and the SEO analysis goes into that. When you do the SEO analysis, it talks about the keyword density as well. Anyway, we have a video on how to optimize the page for the keywords.
This video was more about how to find out what the best keywords are, and using the Google Keyword Planner is the best way to go about that. Anyway, thanks very much. Take care.
